Caroline Reali
I hand weave small tapestries on a scaffolding frame mainly in linens and cottons using traditional techniques such as plain weave, tufting, knotting and soumak. I enjoy contrasting colours, patterns and textures to create a pictoral impression of the design.
I am inspired by places I have visited on holiday or day trips. I collage photos together and weave from these. Curently working on a piece based on Tyntesfield kitchen garden.
I joined the group when I moved to the area to meet other textile artists and to exhibit. The group has a range of textile expertise and has staged excellent exhibitions.
