Jayne Butler

I am inspired by nature that I see around me and by the transformative effects of light and sound.

My principal materials are pre-used cotton silk linen and repurposed fibres such as milk bottle fibre woven into new textile satin. I enjoy working in metals, with sound and creating interactive pieces in addition to free motion machine stitching and Kantha hand stitching which is very meditative.

My current work in progress is looking at repurposing plants and soils into yarn and dyes.

I joined to learn and to hopefully offer some help to a like minded friendly group.
