My current textile work mainly draws inspiration from my personal experiences and observation of the countryside, especially that of the West Country. In recent times I have developed a fascination with aerial views of the natural landscapes and man- made structures that make up our world. What an never ending variety of shape, pattern, texture and colours is to be observed..
A deep pleasure in the transient beauty of natural forms and textures strongly influences the creation of my work. In which the technique of hand stitching predominates, though use of a variety other processes, such as dyeing and printing, is also an integral element.
